The multi-org functions within the
BusinessBackbone applications enable you to define a complex
enterprise business model with many organizations. The
multi-org model is important because it can affect how
the business units interact with each other and how transactions
flow through the enterprise. AR, OM, AP, PO, and PA are
the key applications discussed in this site that can use
multi-org capabilities.
The GL and FA applications implement an enterprise
organization model. The manufacturing and human resources
applications also implement an organization model but
without using multi-org.
The main features of multi-org include the
following:
- Organization security and limited access through
partitioned data tables.
- Intercompany AR invoice processing and accounting.
- Intercompany AP invoice processing and accounting.
- Many business units can use the same database instance.
- Support for nine types of organizations, including
set of books, legal entity, business group, balancing
entity, operating unit, inventory organization, HR
organization, project organization, and asset organizations.
