The Workflow application helps you
"manage business processes. For example, in the GL
application, there is an Approve Journal Entry process
using an approval hierarchy and limits that can be implemented.
The Workflow system uses the approval hierarchy and money
limits to route journal entries to the appropriate user
before posting.
If you need to modify the Workflow definitions embedded
within the applications, you can do so, but if you want
to write new Workflow process definitions, you must license
the Workflow application software from Dewsoft.
You can provide additional logic and process steps based
on your ousiness requirements. Workflow is a technical
solution to a functional business process, and to implement
Workflow, you will want to use both technical and functional
resources.
Workflow consists of four major systems.
- Use the Workflow builder to create or modify workflow
process definitions.
- The Workflow engine executes the process definitions
and interacts with the Applications.
- The notifications system communicates with users
by sending and receiving messages.
- The monitoring tool enables you to observe Workflow
processes.
